Bravehearts Slip Past Brockton

Brockton, MA- Wet weather was no match for the Worcester Bravehearts Wednesday evening, who picked up a 2-1 road win over the Brockton Rox at Campanelli Stadium.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the ‘Hearts, who move back to .500, at 28-28. Brockton falls to 31-23.

The game was called after seven complete innings due to rainstorms that pelted the field.

Brockton got the scoring started in the first, when an RBI single by Jacob Studley (Wheaton) scored Nick Mistone (St. Mary’s).

The Bravehearts tied the game in the top of the fourth, when a Gavin Noriega (Marist) RBI double would score Mark Darakjy (Northeastern).

The winning run scored in the sixth, when Cam Caraher (Southern New Hampshire) came home on a Noriega ground ball that sailed high on an error.

The winning pitcher was Bravehearts starter and Sharon native Max LeBlanc (UMass Amherst). He went six innings, giving up an earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out six. Taking the loss was Jack Snook (St. Mary’s) who gave up two earned runs on four hits and a walk over five innings, striking out two. Shrewsbury native Tyler Mudd (Holy Cross) pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up the save.

The Bravehearts are on the road tomorrow against the New Britain Bees. First pitch is set for 6:35.
