Worcester, MA— The Worcester Bravehearts rallied to beat the Nashua Silver Knights 9-8 Thursday night. Despite seven errors by the defense, Worcester pulled off the win moving to 12-11, while Nashua falls to 6-17.

Nashua kicked off the scoring in the third inning on a leadoff home run by Nate Goranson (William and Mary). The fourth inning spelled trouble for Bravehearts starter and Sharon native Max LeBlanc (UMass Amherst) who allowed five runs on four hits, a walk, and a hit by pitch. Nashua would bring in two more runs in the sixth.

The Bravehearts got on the board in the fifth with an RBI fielder’s choice by Randy Flores (Franklin Pierce) scoring Kenny Mallory Jr. (Vanderbilt). The scoring continued on a two-run single by Rico Riley (Jackson State) scoring Nic Britt (William and Mary) and Flores, bring the score to 6-3.

Worcester rallied to take the lead in a wild sixth inning which saw ten batters come to the plate. The inning began with Tayven Kelley (Penn State) being hit by a pitch. Walks to Andrew Selima (Merrimack) and Zach DeMattio (Wheaton) loaded the bases. A long single by Mallory Jr. drove in Kelley. Another walk to Perales drove in Selima. Flores cleared the bases with a double to right-center, advancing to third on an errant throw by the right fielder. Three pitches later, Flores scored on a straight steal of home, rounding out the six-run comeback and bringing the score to 9-8. Riley, Kelley, and manager Alex Dion were ejected throughout the inning following arguments with the home plate umpire.
