Suns Outlast Bravehearts in Extra Innings

Pittsfield - Pitching was the name of the game tonight as the Pittsfield Suns defeated the Worcester Bravehearts 2-1 in ten innings.

The Suns got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning after two singles by Jeff Boggess and Connor Berry. Another single by Jack Cooney would bring Boggess to the plate for the innings only run.

Worcester got on the board in the top of the eighth. Nicholas Martin led off the inning with a triple and would score after a passed ball.

The winning run came on a bases loaded single by Suns second baseman Mark Coley.

Bravehearts pitchers Troy Klemm, Travis Owens, and Bryce Hellgeth would combine for nine and a third innings of work in which they allowed two runs on five hits and three walks, while racking up eight strikeouts.
